Ohhhh so good. Steak torta was amazing and everything was so fresh. The tamale melted in my mouth and the chile rellano was filled to perfection. This was the perfect stop on a family road trip. Everyone left full and happy.

Wholly cheese and sauce!!! If you go here, do yourself a favor and tell them easy on the cheese and sauce when you order! If I wasn't so hungry I would've not eaten some of it at all and gone to the subway for something not so drenched in cheese and sauce. I picked through it and the chile relleno I ordered was filled with cheese and soaked in a red sauce, the same red sauce that my one cheese one chicken enchilada were drenched in. The chicken enchilada was decent but the others were way too much.

Fantastic fresh authentic Mexican food. The shrimp fajitas are amazing. The tamales are even better! Great service and great food. I definitely will be back.

On out way south to Brookings found this place in Yelp. Very authentic Mexican food and very tasty. Pork tamales melt in your mouth!!

The chicken was good but the beans tasted like they had been stretched with uncooked flour. The salsa and guacamole tasted like they were canned. Edible but not the best Mexican food around.

Pure "4-star" authentic Mexican comida. Mom and Papa and cousins and kids make the best tacos and burritos in Gold Beach, OR. They stay open late, so when you hit town, stop by for sure.

Had the Gold Beach burrito tonight. Simply delicious. I'm not sure why it took me so long to stop by, but I'm sure glad I did.

This place rivals the best Mexican food available ANYWHERE, not just Gold Beach. Everything is fresh and tasty. We've tried different Burritos from the menu, tamales and tacos. You can't go wrong anywhere on their menu. I've lived all over the U.S. and eaten Mexican food in hundreds of different establishments. This one is at the top of any list. It's a small place, only 3 tables plus a comfortable counter area, but it is really quite pleasant inside. The family that runs the place makes you feel at home. If you're in Gold Beach to visit, or if you live here like we do, make this your place for Mexican food when you're here. We used to travel to Brookings for Mexican food. Gold Beach now saves us a trip. I expect Brookings residents will be traveling to Gold Beach for their Mexican Food fix.

Small place for a quick bite, my family of 5 was tight as the seating is very limited. A family ran business and the kid that took our order could not have been over 12 or 13 years old but did a good job. We had the chicken nachos, chimichanga and 2 burritos that were ok as far as Mexican food goes. Only drawback was the overwhelming smell of grease on the place but as I said, a good place for a quick bite.

I agree with Karen W, great home made Mexican food made by "mom and pop." This restaurant is one step above the "cheapo" Mexican dives, but one step below a regular restaurant. They even have a drive thru. I ordered #14, which was Two Chicken Tacos. They asked me if I wanted crunchy or soft shells. I asked if I could have one of each! They let me do that, so they are flexible. I decided I liked Chicken Tacos with the crunchy shell better, but that's not the restaurant's issue, just what I decided after asking for one of each! I am not a fan of refried beans so I asked for "no beans" and they thankfully complied with that request. Sometimes when I ask for "no beans" in a Mexican restaurant, I have to deal with the "no substitutes" rule. That's when I have to dig out my "it's-not-a-substitution-it's-a-deletion" argument. Hey, Sheldon Cooper on BIG BANG THEORY used that argument, so I consider it valid! I have to say something about the rice. The rice was typical tomato cooked rice that you get in most Mexican restaurants, but something about it was.... WONDERFUL! When it comes to rice, I'm not a big fan, but I eat it if it's there. The rice they made me, it's like they had a secret ingredient that made it just WONDERFUL! I wanted more! I also ordered one of those "Mexican" sodas that Mexican restaurants usually have because I was extra thirsty today. Big mistake, but not the restaurant's fault. I guess I'm just not a fan of soda be it American or Mexican. The one thing I noticed was they did not serve any chips and salsa. For this, I am am awarding four stars instead of five. But they did offer me some hot sauce, no extra charge, for my food, that was great. I dipped my chicken tacos in it. It was hot, not the hottest I've ever had, but pretty hot as in peppers hot. It is small, so I'm saying "NO" for groups and kids.

Awful. Just awful. Two bites and I was done. A slime tamale basically. I have possibly had worse food but I can't remember where. The good news is it isn't hard to find a place to sit.

Well what I just read in that negative review is just bs. This is an excellent family run authentic mexican restaurant and I've stopped by on probably 10 occasions or more for a dinner and have yet to be disappointed. My favorite is the carne asade and it is awesome. The chile rellano is also great but if you are on a diet, then stay away as it is definitely not diet food!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
